Hiking trails around Tryavna | Tryavna-Bozhentsi

Bozhentsi is 600 years old village. It is among the most precious architectural and historical reserves in Bulgaria. The village attracts tourists with its well-preserved authentic architecture.

There comes the legend of the noble lady Bozhana, who led her sons and brothers out of the burnt capital of Tarnovo 6 centuries earlier. They came and setted here, amidst centuries old forests, building a settlement that still carries her name.

Of the once rich village, with hundreds of houses and inhabitants - merchants traveling all over the world, today only few local people have remainded, and the unique 100 houses, each about 200 years old.
